Responsible gambling

Bet responsibly

Betting should be entertainment. If it ever stops feeling that way, there is help available. 18+ only on all content on this site.

Set limits before you start

Decide how much you are comfortable losing before you place your first bet, not after. A weekly or monthly limit that does not affect essential spending is the starting point for betting responsibly.

Never chase losses. If you lose your session budget, that session is over. No good decision comes from trying to win back money you have already lost.

Signs of problem gambling

  • Betting more than you planned or can afford
  • Chasing losses with bigger bets
  • Borrowing money to bet
  • Hiding betting activity from family
  • Feeling anxious or irritable when not betting
  • Betting affecting work, relationships or sleep

If any of these apply to you, reach out for support. Problem gambling is a recognised condition and help is available.

Gaming Commission of Ghana

For regulatory questions in Ghana, use the official Gaming Commission of Ghana channels rather than social media screenshots or bookmaker marketing pages.

Self-exclusion and account breaks

If you need a break, contact the bookmaker directly and ask about account closure, cool-off tools, deposit limits or self-exclusion options. Keep a record of the request.

If one account is closed, do not open another account elsewhere to keep betting. The purpose of a break is to remove pressure, not move it around.

Before matchday

A safer betting checklist

Write the limit down

Set a cash limit and a time limit before opening the bookmaker app. If the limit only exists in your head, it is easier to move it when emotions rise.

Keep betting money separate from rent, school fees, transport, food, family obligations and business cash. Those are not bankroll funds.

Avoid pressure bets

  • Do not bet because friends are betting.
  • Do not bet to recover a bad day.
  • Do not bet when angry after a result.
  • Do not bet because a bonus is expiring.

Keep it fun

Practical rules

Rule 1 Only bet what you can lose Treat it as entertainment spend, not investment.
Rule 2 Flat stakes, not chasing Consistent stake sizing protects your bankroll over time.
Rule 3 Time limits work Set a session timer. Decision quality drops with time.
Rule 4 Never bet drunk or emotional Your worst bets will almost always come in this state.

When to stop

The clean exit rules

Stop now You are chasing A second bet made only to fix the first one is a warning sign.
Stop now You cannot sleep If a bet is affecting rest, work or relationships, the stake is too heavy.
Stop now You are hiding it Secrecy around betting usually means the activity is already causing pressure.
